E107Radio and 2 plugins

E107Radio and 2 plugins

Some weeks ago became two plugins available for the E107 CMS on the E107Radio website which also has been used for this website. There is a newer version of the Logbook plugin. Father Barry made a lot of changes to this plugin. I am using still the old version here.

I made a PSKReporter plugin. When installed you are able to make some statistics visible on the screen. No, no graphics yet, but some statistical data on the screen. The receivers, the stations who heard you, the stations which has been heard by you and the countries you heard the last seven days. This plugin has a link here in the main menu on this website.

Just surf to http://e107radio.org, register and download the plugin. Feedback is always welcome.

Contact with PI9ISS (Andre Kuipers)

Contact with PI9ISS (Andre Kuipers)

Saturday April 21th. I had a brief radio contact with Andre Kuipers who is an Astronaute on the I(nternational) S(pace) S(tation). I had planned this QSO since his spaceflight was announced.

I had tried to make contact before without any result till now. Was it luck? No. The same day I had a conversation with Cor (PD0RKC) and he told me about the presleep period of every Astronaute. Presleep is just another word for free time before going to sleep.

So... I just called him Saturday the 21th. of April on 20:00 UTC and I had seen that Andre's Presleep period was cheduled from 19:30 - 21:30 UTC.

Just after 4 calls Andre came back from me and I was baffled for a moment. So I had to search for my words at first. Anyway here is the QSO.

Contact with the ISS (PI9ISS - Andre Kuipers)
on April 21th. 2012 20:00 UTC - own recording

PD5DP contact with PI9ISS (Andre Kuipers)
on April 21th. 20:00 UTC - recording made by Cor (PD0RKC)

'Super' Moon - Only 356,577 km's

'Super Moon' - Only356,577 km's

Today, 19th. of March 2011, a rare occasion will happen: lunaire perigeum. The moon will be very near to our planet. It was 1993 when the moon was so close to our earth for the last time. The sky object will be only 356,577 km's away of us.

Some astrologes think that this 'Super Moon' will cause disaster for our climate. Other scientists have no worries about it.

This is my first serious SDR-receiver. It is hooked up at the moment with a minibeam for 20/15/10 meters, but also some other bands are suitable to listen too. If I am not using it and my computer is turned on you can access it by remote control. Here is the guide how to do it:

Download SDR-Radio at www.sdr-radio.com

Install the software

Run the software and select by Input Source ->Remote

My URL is pd5dp.no.ip.org , Username is Guest and the password is FortKnox

If the connection is established you have to click on the play button by Input Source

This is all you have to do. After this you can control the radio if it is at your home. It can be that the radio is already in use by me of others. If that is the case the connection will be refused. Be patient.
